On Sunday, April 8th the College Athlete Placement (CAP) Program hosted another successful college ID clinic for both the boys and girls. There were over 60 Liverpool players in attendance as they had the opportunity to display their talents in front of the men and women’s coaches from Dallas Baptist University and Austin College. The players were put through a dynamic warm-up before being split into two groups for the technical sessions. These were put on by the college coaches and gave the players the opportunity to work with each coach on a technical session from the college level.

The players were then put into teams to play small-sided games as the coaches observed and assessed players in the game-like environment. The clinic wrapped up with each coach taking a few minutes to discuss their school and program.

“It was great to hear from the coaches about their schools and it opened my eyes as a player on the things I need to work on in order to play at the collegiate level,” says Ethan Anderson (01B ECNL).

“It opened my eyes to two different schools I didn’t think I was interested in until I heard what the school had to offer academically as well as soccer wise,” says Arianna Raich (03G Owen).

Overall, it was another great night for the club and the College Athlete Placement (CAP) Program as we continue to provide these opportunities for our players. Whether they want to play at the collegiate level or just attend college, the CAP program is dedicated to help guide our players in the right direction and to the college which is right for them.

The girls program will have its second college ID clinic this Sunday, April 15th from 5-7pm at The Branch Training Facility. The clinic will be limited to 50 players from ages 99 – 03 (Seniors – Freshmen). Players who are interested in attending should register with CAP Director – Dru Wright at dru.wright@liverpoolfcamerica.com.

This is a great opportunity provided by our College Athlete Placement (CAP) Program under the direction of Dru Wright for our college bound players to highlight their potential in front of colleges and universities. Don’t miss out!
