On February 22, Liverpool FC America hosted the regional PDP, Player Development Program, where Liverpool FC America U-13 player Felipe Medina was identified as one of the nation’s elite players and invited to attend the National Team Camp in California later this month.  The Player Development Program and the id2 program are both sanctioned as an Olympic Development Program approved by the US Olympic Committee and the US Soccer Federation.

Felipe Medina is a member of the Boys Classic League Division I team, Liverpool FC America 02 Boys Owen team coached by Craig Jones and the 02 Boys NPL (National Premier League) team.   US Club Soccer’s id2 Program and the National Premier League provide opportunities for players across the United States to be identified as well as included in the US Soccer’s National Team programs.

In the club’s second year of NPL, Liverpool FC America has offered more than 300 players the opportunity to represent the club in regional and national competitions and participate in the elite national selection process.

Felipe Medina will travel to Chula Vista, San Diego March 26-28 to train for three days with the national team training pool.  Players will be evaluated and selected for the 2016 National Team program.

Every player at Liverpool FC America has opportunities created and supported by the entire Liverpool family.  Congratulations to Felipe, his family, the coaches and the teams.

REF:  US CLUB PROGRAM DESCRIPTION of PDP

A comprehensive national scouting and recommendation program is used to form a player pool from which top players are invited to attend an id2Program Training Camp. There is no cost to the player to be recommended or scouted for the id2 Program or PDP events.

Centered on the NPL, PDPs are regionally-based identification and development programs conducted within the id2 Program. PDP invitations are based upon scouting within the hosting NPL, scouting of NPL clubs and other nearby clubs, as well as recommendations from Directors of Coaching. From this scouting and recommendation process, top players are invited to attend PDP events, which are one way for players to advance into an id2 Program Training Camp, as id2 Program scouts are on-site at all PDP events to scout players for potential inclusion.
