North Texas Announces Organizational Changes

As our club continues to grow and take its place as the premier club in Texas soccer, our organization must continue to grow and evolve to better meet the demands of our players, families, coaches and the community at large.

In order to form a more dynamic and focused organization and one we will all be proud of I am very happy today to announce the following reorganization.

Adam Flynn, who joined us several months ago as the former head coach of Liverpool International Football Academy, will immediately assume the role of Director of Coaching for Liverpool FC America. While maintaining our regional structure Adam will replace both Lee Weddall and Tim Trevino in their roles as Regional DOC, while Craig Jones will continue as RDOC for the Western region but will now report to Adam.

Lee, who has just completed the herculean task of graduating not one, but two top 04 girls teams, has agreed to accept the position of Director at Large, reporting directly to me. In this capacity Lee will help chart and guide our club from a strategic and growth perspective and bring his years of experience and wisdom into helping our club grow the right way. Lee will also be working with our club on our national expansion plans as well as duties here in North Texas. This will also allow Lee to focus on continuing the success he has had coaching three of our top girls teams (03 Elite, 04 Elite and 04 Premier). In this new role, Lee will be able to ensure the teams continue to receive the best coaching the club can provide to them.

Tim’s role will be an evolving one and he will also be working on more of the strategic growth of the club. He will be helping implement world class business practices and helping our club lead the way on marketing and sponsorship opportunities. In addition Tim will oversee the operational and commercial side of both our NPSL and WPSL teams.

Armando Pelaez, who joined the club in June of 2013 as the Technical Director will continue in this key role guiding the quality of our club to the highest level we have ever seen in our history. Armando will work closely with Adam to ensure coaching education, development and accountability are hallmarks of our club. In addition Armando will continue to manage our NPSL team and lead that opportunity for our club.

Jimmy Melia, our living Liverpool legend, will also continue in his role as Director of The Liverpool Way. In addition to insuring “we are Liverpool” Jimmy will be working closely with our expansion efforts and work with our affiliate clubs throughout the U.S.

As we celebrated the largest graduating class of 04’s in the history of Texas soccer, we also renew our commitment to insuring that The Reds Academy remains at the vanguard of soccer in Texas and the country. To insure that, I am equally as excited to announce that Tony Merola will be assuming the new position of Academy Manager over our entire academy system. Tony rejoined LFCA this spring after serving as the community manager and under 12 academy coach for Wrexham FC in Wales. Tony will have responsibility for insuring The Reds Academy continues as not only the largest but the best Academy in all of Texas. Working with Tony as the Deputy Academy Manager will be Dru Wright. Dru joined LFCA two years ago, moving here from Louisiana and has not stopped making us a better club since he arrived. With Tony based out of our western area and Dru based out of our east and central areas, their combined ability to impact the marketplace should be phenomenal.

Matt Veasey will continue in his role as Elite Program coordinator and in particular will manage and lead our NPL efforts. In addition Matt continues to work on other elite leagues that will make sense for our club in the future. Matt will also assume the increased role of Director of our RASE program. RASE (Reds Academy School of Excellence) is the elite training and developmental program of The Reds Academy and in helping to guide this program Matt will work with Tony, Armando and Adam.

Jimmy Fagen will now be moving into a new role as Director of Recruitment and Team Development. In this key role Jimmy will oversee our growth strategy and work with Adam and Tony to ensure our targets are being met and managed.

Colin Yocum will work with Matt on developing the RASE brand in our western area and continue to head up and grow our ISD initiative begun this past year with EMSISD. In addition Colin will pilot a new regional program with Keller Youth Soccer integrating Liverpool into this important customer. If all goes as well as we hope this exciting program can and will be expanded to other markets and associations.

Keri Baker will continue in her role as Director of Player Programs. She will work directly for Adam, better aligning the player and club needs with her ability to deliver the programs. Colin Rocke who had been our deputy of player programs will now serve as a Regional site coordinator for KBC and The Mac allowing the club to have onsite leadership and management to help insure both of these locations continue to grow our club and are well looked after. In this role Colin will report to Adam and work closely with Tony insuring all academy targets are met. In addition Colin will continue in his role as head coach of our WPSL team.

Blas Guerra will continue in his role as manager of coaching education and will work with both Armando and Adam on shaping, implementing and executing our coaching development plan.

Nancy Lane will continue as head of our administration and communication areas as the Director of both. Nancy also oversees our tournaments, spirit wear, uniforms, registration, team finances and several other key areas for our club. I am also excited to announce that Nancy will expand her responsibilities into our national and state expansion plans and this year successfully managed and guided an emerging group of teams from San Angelo into our club.

Greg Snetsinger will be joining the club as our Finance Manager to implement solid and strong financial management, controls, discipline and leadership throughout the club.

Kathy McGuffin will continue in her role as Registrar and Treasurer, having pioneered dues payments in our club to an industry leading over 99% dues collected. Kathy will continue to help us (and you) with all your dues and registration related issues and needs.

Frank Will will continue as “our man on the world wide web” as well as doing incredible work on information and system development and sharing.

These changes will continue to provide our club with a leadership team that will lead our club to places and paths that will make Liverpool FC America the club of choice. I am excited about the future and know you join me in wishing these able men and women all the best and God’s guidance as they lead our club.
