Make First Club Trip to Liverpool FC

Liverpool FC America Boys teams 98 Boys Babbel and 99 Boys Hunt made the first exchange trip to Liverpool England this past March with their coach Wilco Ravestijn and several of their family members, eager for a taste of what the storied Liverpool history and tradition is all about. This inaugural trip allowed more than 30 players and families to experience the heart and culture of both the city of Liverpool as well as one of the most famous football clubs in the world Liverpool FC, England. The two teams toured the region, training at both Wrexham as well as at the Liverpool Academy. “We drove into town and there was ‘Liverpool’ everywhere” one player was heard to say about the trip.

Liverpool FC, England rolled out the red carpet for the two young American teams and Academy Coach Adam Flynn served as their expert host, trainer and guide. “The enthusiasm and energy around the city is magic, “said one returning player, “The passion is part of the very air they breathe, and their pride is like a religion.” Nothing quite compares to the sounds and sights of the legendary stadium at Anfield. The groups were given a private tour of the stadium as well as the great fortune to be able to see a home game as the Liverpool fans cheered on their team to victory over Stoke City on the final day of their trip.

Liverpool FC America is very grateful for all the efforts and time Steve Turner, Adam Flynn, Michael Yates and so many other people gave their time and efforts to help prepare a first class experience for these boys. It was a dream come true for many, and an adventure few will ever forget.
