BVB International Academy Texas is delighted and proud to announce Nick Stavrou will be joining our club effective immediately! Nick has been a well-respected and successful coach in North Texas for more than 20 years and has been instrumental in the development of hundreds of talented players throughout his career.
Originally from England, Nick played in several premier youth academies including Brighton, Portsmouth and Southampton. Nick moved to the United States to attend Cleveland State University where he was an All American student-athlete, team captain and remains a record holder for most goals scored in a single season. Nick was honored as a collegiate All-America and a Hall of Fame inductee at Cleveland State University.
Nick was successfully drafted as a professional player with the Dallas Sidekicks from 1991-2004 and 2012-2014. He captained the team for the 03/04 and 12-14 seasons and his jersey(#23) was retired in 2019. Nick has shared his playing talent on multiple outdoor teams since his professional career.
Nick Stavrou has coached primarily with two clubs throughout his career here in North Texas prior to coaching here to BVB International Academy Texas and has taken several teams to state, regional and national championships. With a high-level experience in developing both boys and girls players, Nick’s education background allows him to serve both the development and growth both on and off the field.
To his players, Nick is a role model, a self-assured and confident presence in their lives. He demands 100% effort, determination and commitment and in return gives unwavering support. Nick’s character, honor, humility and consistent efforts to always put the player first are applauded and respected, and the results he achieves on the field are unmistakable excellence.
Nick will be a part of the ECNL staff as well as working closely with David Hudgell and Colin Rocke to continue developing teams in multiple age groups.
