BVB International Academy Texas is proud to announce the invitation into the Girls Academy (GA) beginning for the 2021-22 season.  It is both an honor and a privilege for BVB IA Texas to join clubs from around the nation participating in this elite platform designed to identify and showcase the most talented female players in the country.

BVB IA Texas has worked hard and is proud to be able to offer GA as a nationally recognized development platform to our female players and become a proud part of an organization whose mission so closely aligns with the very foundation of our club.

We are excited to embrace and uphold the Girls Academy vision statement.   From the GA website; “We believe through collaboration that dreams can come true.

We will lead the most dynamic development platform imaginable for our players with integrity and respect, showcasing their passion, grit and dedication in a fun and competitive environment.”   Through our focus on quality and the true BVB one-family culture, many dreams have come true for BVB IA Texas over the past few years.  Today’s announcement is a culmination of many years of effort.

The efforts to elevate BVB International Academy Texas into the Girls Academy was spearheaded by our Technical Director and Director of Elite Programs, David Hudgell.  David has an impressive background on and off the field and after previously being a technical director in the Boys DA, served as the road map through the application and approval process. He will collaborate with our club directors Colin Rocke, Kevin Smith and Dru Wright to deliver this elite program.

David summed up the club’s sentiment well when he said, “We are honored to be invited to be a part of the Girls Academy.  We believe that the vision and mission of the Girls Academy matches our own here at BVB and we are excited to offer a dynamic elite developmental platform for our female players.   We are fully committed to our players and their goals and through GA believe that our female players will have the opportunity to achieve their dreams in the extremely competitive Frontier Conference.  Our invitation to join GA will complete our player development pathway from the youngest ages through their collegiate and professional aspirations. We are proud to be the first club in North Texas to offer this rewarding experience to its female players and we look forward to being able to work with GA with immediate effect.  We would like to thank the committee and board for this unique opportunity.”

The BVB IA Texas club was created in 2019 through a like-minded partnership between a youth soccer club owned by CEO and President Peter Brody and Borussia Dortmund and the BVB Youth Academy.  The original youth soccer club was created in 2006.  With the fantastic opportunity to partner with Borussia Dortmund, and by creating and supporting the ultimate player pathway, the change was made to BVB International Academy.  Now, with the Girls Academy and DPL platforms, and with the creation of the BVB Women’s team in Dortmund coming in fall of 2021, we have closed the loop and created the real player pathway for our female players.

BVB IA Texas has 9 training locations across North Texas with “The Training Grounds” as their central elite training facility.  The Training Grounds, located in Carrollton Texas, will now host our Girls Academy and DPL teams training and game schedules.  The Training Grounds includes our championship field complete with home and away locker rooms, concessions area and entry way along with 5 additional lighted full size training fields, the Blue Sky Sports Center Indoor facility with dedicated BVB Training Pitch, clubhouse, including meeting rooms and offices and much, much more.

President Peter Brody summed up the invitation with the following.   “The Girls Academy (GA) represents an elite topflight platform that will allow our teams to play against the best teams in the country. We are incredibly happy, excited, and honored to have been accepted into the Girls Academy and are looking forward to being an active and successful partner. The timing is fantastic for our girls’ teams, as Borussia Dortmund will be launching its women's side this fall and the Girls Academy will be a wonderful compliment and pathway for those female players that may aspire to play at such a level. On behalf of BVB International Academy in Texas I want to join David and our entire team in saying thank you to the board and staff of the Girls Academy for welcoming BVB IA Texas and we are looking forward to a long and successful partnership.”

We are proud that BVB is one of a handful of clubs in the nation recognized and able to offer both national platforms for our players; Girls Academy and Boys ECNL.  We are honored to be the first club in North Texas to join GA and look forward to our girls’ teams training and competing at this elite national level. Player ID clinics and open tryouts will be held this spring.   For more information, please contact our Director of Elite Programs David Hudgell or Director of Player Development, Kevin Smith. BVB IA Texas will begin competing in GA this fall!
