Parents,

We hope this communication finds you well!  We hope that you and your family are all healthy and enjoying this lovely spring weather as we wait eagerly for things to return to a more normal daily routine.

We heard from Governor Abbott on Monday with some general re-opening guidelines for our state.  BVB IA Texas respects our local government and health professionals’ recommendations and will follow their guidance on the best way to begin our activities as a club here in North Texas.  At this time, the recommendations have been made that outdoor sports can resume provided there are no more than four participants and that they maintain social distancing guidelines.

Our leadership team has determined, at this time, that resuming any form of soccer training sessions would be difficult and could pose a risk to our players.  With the nature of soccer, and players, the leadership does not feel we could reasonably guarantee that the social distancing guidelines would be strictly maintained.

We are very hopeful that the next announcement from the Governor in a week or so will continue to relax “on field” guidelines so that our teams can get back onto the field and continue their training outdoors with their teams and coaches.

With that said, we do have some good news!  In conjunction with what the coaches are doing now through digital training and fitness, we are encouraging and setting up the following activities for our parents/ players over the next week or so:

  1. A video tele-conference/ call with former BVB legend and German National Team Goalkeeper, Roman Weidenfeller, will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 for all our BVB IA America Goalkeepers!   Details will be coming out on Friday!    Roman Weidenfeller played for BVB from 2002-2018 where he won the Bundesliga twice in 2011 and in 2012 and was with the squad when the 2014 German National Team bested Brazil and won the World Cup title!  During the video/ call, players will interact with Roman Weidenfeller with questions and can hear his responses live on the call.

  2. On Thursday, May 7th, we will conduct an interactive Club Town Hall Video /Call with a full discussion of our BVB International Academy America Player Pathway.  The graphic has been our website and social media and has generated great interest.  Our soccer leadership team will be on the call sharing with players the importance of the pathway and how they can ensure their own success.  Details on the call will be coming out on Friday, May 1st!

  3. Players will be invited to join with Coach Ricky Blanchard via Zoom for a virtual fitness class each week.  Details to come by Friday.

We are looking forward to getting our teams back on the field just as soon as possible. Until then, please know that we care about each of our players and families and hope you are well.  As always, we are more than happy to answer any questions or concerns you might have via email at info@bvbinternationalacademy.com

Sincerely,

BVB IA North Texas
